Why Am I Doing This?

The number one question I get asked lately is, “what made you decide to be in a pageant?” Well the answer is simple, I reach more people. Since starting the pageant in September 2011 I have been given more opportunities to help people than I ever have before. I was always looking for those opportunities but now they are just handed to me, including interviews, appearances, volunteer work, etc. So this brings me to my platform. I have so many charities that mean so much to me and each has a different mission. I couldn’t choose one focus. So I decided to combine them and make my platform my true passion, volunteering. I haven’t always been in a financial position to be able to tithe my 10% but I do believe in giving at least that, so I decided to give it in time. Over the years I’ve noticed that time has changed not only the lives of the people I’ve helped but also mine and my families. I know time is very valuable and we don’t get much of it but I am able to find the time to compete in a pageant, I have the time to volunteer.
